Alexandra DeArmond,17, beloved daughter and vibrant member of the community, passed away on May 4, 2024 at Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital in Gallup. She was born on February 1, 2007. She will rest at Hillcrest Cemetery.
She is survived by her mother Michelle, her grandparents Bobby and Beady, her aunt and uncle Mike and Nico Davis, her godparents Evonne and Billy Wyatt, and Mark Delgado.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather Dan Heard and her brother Ryan DeArmond.
Alex will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her sense of compassion, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. Alex had a heart of gold and was a shining light in the community. She was known for her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. As a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters, she mentored with compassion and dedication. From her active participation in the Grace Bible Youth Group student leadership team to her time with the 505 Starlings Volleyball team, Alex embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm.
Alex was a junior at Rehoboth Christian School, where she found not only a place of learning, but a second home. She cherished her time at Rehoboth, where she thrived academically, socially, and spiritually. Alex demonstrated her love for her school through her participation in extracurricular activities such as choir, drama, and the ropes course.
Alex's work ethic was admirable, evident in her dedication to multiple jobs at Skate Connect, Baskin Robbins, and Juniper Bakery. Alex approached every task with a positive attitude and a willingness to go above and beyond.
Though Alex's time with us was far too short, the impact she made during her 17 years on this earth will be felt forever. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Pallbearers for Alex were Dustin Wyatt, Travis Wyatt, Nicholas DeArmond, Kyle DeArmond, Christopher DeArmond, Jayme Murphy. Kayla DeArmond, Jenna DeArmond, Jena DeArmond, Dylan DeArmond, Ian Fletcher, Erica Fletcher, and Irelynn Delgado.
Honorary pallbearers were Ariel Smith, Aurora Smith, Larissa Morinia, Lexi Molina, Ella DeArmond, Sierra DeArmond, and Joni Jade Wyatt.
Charitable donations may be made to the Rehoboth Ropes Course, P.O. Box 41, Rehoboth NM 87322 in memory of Alex’s time as a ropes course facilitator or to her favorite camp Broken Arrow Bible Ranch 28 Broken Arrow Rd., PO Box 337 Vanderwagen, NM 87326.
