Alice Eileen Snowbarger

Alice Eileen Snowbarger departed this life on August 1, 2018 at the age of 79 in Farmington, NM. Eileen was born on August 13, 1938 in Scotts Bluff, NE.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 6 at RiverStone Church 808 N. Monterey in Farmington, NM with Pastor Brian Adams officiating.
Eileen attended schools in Denver, Colorado graduating from Englewood High School in 1956. She married Gordon Snowbarger on September 13, 1959 in Littleton, Colorado. She always said that 13 was her lucky number!
Eileen and Gordon were blessed with three children during their time in Yuma, AZ where Eileen was able to continue her education, earning an Associate's Degree from Arizona Western College.
Eileen and Gordon moved several times during Gordon's career in education living in Yuma, AZ, Pinetop, AZ, Cincinnati, OH, Lamar, CO, Glenwood Springs, CO, Trinidad, CO, Alamosa, CO and finally in Farmington, NM. A short time was also spent in Ft. Collins, CO while Gordon was pursuing additional education opportunities. In Glenwood Springs CO, Eileen managed the family business; Max's Music Company.
Eileen enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, gardening and being with her family. She was an active member of her churches wherever God planted her and her family.
Eileen was preceded in death by her son Ray Snowbarger, sister-in-law Evelyn McGuire, brothers-in-law Bob Simpson and Dick McGuire.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 58 years Gordon. She is also survived by her children Cindy (Gary) Anderson (Lamar, CO) and Marty (Beth) Snowbarger (Farmington, NM). By her six grandchildren: Brittany (Judson) Eddins (Pampa, TX), Jim (Bri) Anderson (Amarillo, TX), Jake (Rachel) Snowbarger (Farmington, NM), Ariel Snowbarger (Farmington, NM) and Clayton and Chirisa Snowbarger. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Cooper Snowbarger, Emma and Kynlee Anderson. Also surviving are her sisters Vonnie Simpson and Kay (Frank) Wehlage, her brother Ed (Bevi) Davis, brother-in-law Ron Snowbarger, sisters-in-law Alice (Jim) Staples and Betty Keddington and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington, Farmington, NM. 505-327-5142.
