Bobby Werito died August 1, 2022 at the age of 89 in Farmington, New Mexico. He was the husband of Rita Werito and they shared 68 years of marriage.
Born March 12, 1933 in Huerfano, New Mexico, he was the son of Jim Werito and Louise Werito. Bobby went to Albuquerque Indian School. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad during his young adult life. Bobby then worked for San Juan Casing and for RW Miller, Inc. until he retired.
Bobby was a hardworking man who enjoyed ranching, silversmithing, puzzles and high school girls’ basketball. His favorite sports teams were LA Lakers and Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved when family from out of town visited. Bobby will be remembered for his conversations, his teasing and kind nature, and his mischievous laughter
He is survived by his wife, Rita; his children, Walter Werito, Clifford Werito, Barb Whiston, and Bita Roanhorse; brother, Harvey Werito and sisters, Annabelle Yazzie and Marie Black. 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Wilbert Werito, Thomas Werito, Keith Werito, and Jimmy Werito; sister, Jane Yazzie; and daughter, Belinda Werito
Bobby will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 am on August 5, 2022 at World Harvest Center. Interment will follow the service at 11:30am at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kyle Werito, Kevin Werito, Luke Paul, Tyrell Antonio, Nathan Werito, and Kody Antonio. Honorary Pallbearers are Ty Cayatineto, Mitchell Werito, Colin Werito, Carter Werito, and Dreden Jones.
