Carl Lewis Brown, 94 years old of Farmington, NM passed away January 10, 2022. Carl was born Dec. 22, 1927 in Duke Center, PA to George F. and Wilma (Coleman) Brown.
Carl began working in the oil field as a young child, following behind his father. Through his life he continued working in the oil field, going to TX, CO and then NM. In the late 1960's he became a machinist, then he and his wife Doris began working in the dry-cleaning business, owning several plants in WA before retiring.
After being drafted into the Army during his senior year of high school he served in Hawaii during the aftermath of the attack on Pearl Harbor. He married Doris Mae Skiver on May 8, 1946, while on leave from bootcamp.
Carl and Doris enjoyed their 70 years of marriage raising 3 children, being active in church, camping and square dancing.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents, and 4 siblings. He is survived by his children: Phyllis Jacobs, Danny Brown, and Martin (Darlene) Brown, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He also is survived by six siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services for Carl will be held Monday, January 17, 2022, at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington, Farmington, NM with Pastor David Brittain officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
