Carl Joe Peskor was born to Carl and Anne Peskor in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1952. He later attended Bakersfield College and California State University. He began his firefighting career as a wild land firefighter in the state of California. He came to Farmington, NM in 1975 and worked with International Crane Service and Universal Constructors until he was accepted into the Farmington fire department in 1978. He worked his way through the ranks and retired as fire chief on September 30, 1998. He was also a part time employee for Al's Trailer Sales through most of his firefighting career.
His most loved hobby was being an IPSC, IDPA, and 3-gun shooter at San Juan Wildlife Range and around the United States. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and driving his truck. His love of family was the most important thing in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Peskor (Gurley); son, Ezekiel Peskor; granddaughter, Kate Brabec (Perry Vetter); great granddaughter, Ellery Ryan Brabec; great gradnson, Dutton Lee Vetter; sisters, Cassie Alisa Peskor of Farmington, NM, Marlene Waddell of Sundre, Alberta, Canada, Kathy Cameron (Stuart) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; nephews, Joseph and David Cameron. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Peskor and Anne Gutenberg Peskor; son Joseph Trey Peskor.
Interment will be 2:00pm Friday, October 30, 2020 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington, NM.
