Carla E. (Baird) Vescovi- Dial

Carla E. (Baird) Vescovi- Dial passed peacefully away on November 21, 2024. Born August 14, 1941, in Durango, CO, to her parents Darlin and Walt Baird. 

She was proceeded in death by her parents and brothers, LaNell and LaVall; great nephew, Cody Bokatzian; and husbands Jack Vescovi and Buster Dial. She is survived by sister-in-law Shirley Baird; nephew, Ronnie Baird (Donica); niece, Casey Bokatzian (Nick); nephews, Kelly Baird (Karen); Cole Baird (Dell); and numerous great nieces and nephews.

As the little sister of two older brothers, she grew up as the center of attention and that spotlight followed her throughout her life. Carla worked for San Juan County for many years. Upon retirement she was elected as Magistrate Judge in Aztec, NM, and was proud to serve her community. She made a huge impact on and off the bench and stood firm in her convictions.

Carla had a zest for life, loved her friends, family and anything with sparkles and animal print! She was witty, full of personality, never met a stranger and always had a plethora of stories to tell, until the end.

There will be a viewing/visitation at Cope Memorial Chapel in Aztec, NM, on Friday, November 29th from 12:30-1:30 PM. Burial will follow at the Aztec Cemetery (700 Chamisa St. Aztec, NM) at 2:00 PM.
