Cecil Walters

Cecil Wayne Walters (75) of Aztec, New Mexico died peacefully in his home on August 4, 2023.  He was born in Walters, OK on August 28, 1947. Cecil married Ellen on August 20, 1966 in Meade, KS.  He joined Pipeliners Local Union 798 in 1965 as a welder’s helper. Four years later he found his passion as a pipeline welder.  His love of welding took him all over the United States and Canada.  Cecil went on to become a CPWI welding inspector in 2016.  He came home to Aztec to retire in 2019.  He was a lifelong Elks member.  Cecil is proceeded in death by his (son) Mark, (parents) Loyd Franklin and Delilah Mae, (brothers and spouses) Dale, Carla, Don, Sandy and Billie. He is survived by his he is survived by his Wife, Ellen E Walters, (son) Eric, (wife) Christine (daughter) Melissa Holland (husband) Justin, (brother) Jackie McCain (grandchildren) Mark Walters, Aspen Coffelt, (husband) Tim,  Brandon Walters, Abigail Holland and Dallas Holland, and numerous other nieces, nephews and In-laws.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on August 12th at Cope Memorial Chapel on 404 West Arrington in Farmington (viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM) followed by a graveside service at Aztec Cemetery.  A reception afterwards at #33 Road 2952 in Aztec.  Flower donations can be made at Hazel’s Gifts and Flowers. Donations can also be made at Evergreen Nursery for the purchase of trees.
