Charline was born in Durango Co. She spent her early life in Piedra CO until her family moved to Aztec in 1945. They moved to town so she could attend high school. She graduated from Aztec High School in 1949 although she continued to be a lifelong Aztec Tiger. Soon after graduation, Charline started a career working for the Aztec school system as secretary to the superintendent. She retired from Aztec Schools after 42 years of service then continued as the District Test Coordinator for another 11 years. In total, Charline served her community through the schools for 54 years.
Charline was passionate about education and the teaching of young minds. She was devoted to her faith and trust in her Lord. She served faithfully in every church she attended in many capacities. She gave of herself to Bible Studies, preparing baby bags for the hospital, sending cards to church members. One of the greatest sources of her joy was her family. Traveling with them, guiding them, caring for them and teaching each of them the important concepts of life. Wherever she went, whatever she did, Charline Gaston touched lives and made an impact on those around her.
