It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Christeen McAnally, a long-time resident of Farmington, New Mexico. Born on December 9, 1931, in Garvin, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Madge Barnett, Christeen spent her early years in the rural heartlands of Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully in Farmington on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the age of 92 years.

Christeen, the beloved daughter of Clyde and Madge Barnett, experienced a vibrant and nurturing childhood in rural Oklahoma. Alongside her brother, Carl Barnett, who predeceased her, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of country life. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1951, a year marked by significant milestones, as she married Hermon McAnally and welcomed their daughter, Brenda, into the world.

Christeen was a woman of many passions. She found great joy in tending to her flower garden, with a particular fondness for roses. Her talent in baking was well-known, and she delighted in preparing a variety of goodies for family and friends. Additionally, her love for hummingbirds was evident in the care she took in feeding and watching these graceful creatures.

Christeen's warmth, wisdom, and kindness, along with her love for the simple beauties of nature, her delicious baked goods, and her fascination with hummingbirds, will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her in Farmington and beyond.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hermon McAnally, her parents, Clyde and Madge Barnett, and her brother, Carl Barnett.

Christeen is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Brenda Collins; son-in-law, John Collins; grandsons, Ken Collins and Brian Collins; great grandsons, Joshua Collins, Brian Collins, and Adam Collins; and great granddaughter, Leila Collins.

Funeral services will be held at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W Arrington St, Farmington, NM 87401, on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 10:30 am. The burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N Dustin Ave, Farmington, NM 87401.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Collins, Dell Gunn, Travis Miller, and Pat Maurer.
