Mom graduated from Minot State Teachers’ College in North Dakota, eventually met Clair, married, had 3 of their 4 children in North Dakota, and ended up in Farmington. Their last child was born here. Mom was a teacher in Farmington, she was actually one of the first teachers hired at the new Head Start. Years later, Mom and Dad bought the Welborn Paint Store and re-named in Farmington Decorating Center. It thrived for many years. When Dad died, Mom kept the business for many years and retired in the mid-1980’s. Mom did a lot of traveling and especially loved Hawaii. She lived in Arizona for many years before moving back to Farmington. Della was preceded in death by her parents Enoch and Kristina Christensen, husband Clair Liebel, (Bill McFarland and James Wilhelm) her son Wally and great-grandson Ayres. She is the last of her siblings to go to Heaven: Myrtle Paulson, Shirly Wohl, Ruth Bruns, Georgia Myron, Carlyle Christensen. The remaining family is Roger Liebel (and Chris), Kris Head (and George), Sondra Liebel, all of Farmington. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren: Michelle Schneider (and Brik) of Washington State; Heath Amon of Bloomfield; David Liebel of Farmington, Angela Hall (and Warman) of Bloomfield; Laura Liebel (and Shane Pavey) of Farmington and Leasha Roller (and Cody) of Colorado. She has many grandchildren: Kyle Schneider, Corbin Moorhead, Phillip McClellan, Andrew Turner, Taylor Amon and Zachary Amon, Andrew Liebel, Mathew Liebel, Karen Liebel, Steven Liebel, Matthew Head and Sarah Head. Mom proudly speaks of her grandchildren saying, “They do very little wrong!” Mom has numerous great grandchildren: Micah Liebel, Makayla Liebel, Marces Liebel, Michael Liebel, Serenity Hall, Daniel Hall, Brook Bahling, Will Liebel, Azariah Roller, Daniel Rolle and Ekko Maisy Schneider. She also has 2 great-great grandchildren: Aurora Taylor, Rhett Amon and 3 on the way. Della’s family would like to thank the staff at The Bridge and at Life Care. Unit C gets a special thank you; they are truly wonderful people. We can’t thank you all enough for the time and attention you gave Mom and us. In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made in Mom’s name to The Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society in Farmington.
