Edna Marquez

Edna Marquez passed away on March 21, 2019 in Grants, New Mexico. She was born on August 13, 1940 in Penasco, New Mexico. She was 78 years of age.
Edna was a devoted mother and wife, she adored and loved her family especially her grandchildren. She was loved and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Sonny Marquez. Two daughters; Rhonda Candelaria and her husband Derek, and Sonya Marquez. Four grandchildren; Kyle Candelaria, Kevin Candelaria and his companion Martina Martinez, Ryan Marquez and his companion Quoia Dobbs, and Myrissa Marquez. One Great-grandson; Bryson Candelaria. Her siblings; Reynaldo Tafoya and his wife Jane, Condrado Tafoya and his wife Ruth. Anselmo Tafoya and his wife Pauline. Her caretakers; Shannan Gonzales, Brenda Martinez, Sophie Herrera, and Beverly Sanchez. Her beloved furry companion; Lady. Along with numerous nephews and nieces that survive her.
Mrs. Marquez was preceded in death by her parents; Onesimo Tafoya and Pelegrina Martinez Tafoya. Her siblings; Gregoria Sanchez, Mabel Medina, and Alfonso Tafoya.
On Wednesday March 27, 2019 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM, then a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Matthew Keller. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.
Pallbearers include; Kyle Candelaria, Kevin Candelaria, Ryan Marquez, Karl Chavez, Henry Martinez, Louie Martinez, Marcus Salazar, and Eugene Gonzales.
Honorary Pallbearers include; Larry Diaz, Jessie Gomez, Dr. Roland Sanchez, Dennis Chavez, Kathy Gonzales, Dolores Vallejos, Lloyd Ortega, and Nato Tena.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
