Erwin Daniel Shipley

Erwin Daniel “Danny” Shipley took his final breath on October 11, 2024 at the age of 65 with his beloved, Alicia Wright, by his side. He was born in East Meadow, NY on March 05, 1959 to Erwin Ernest Shipley II and Joyce Donna Betters Lemieux, the second of six children. He married his first wife, Estella Rodriguez and joined the US Army in 1977. Shortly after he became a Father to his first daughter, Erieka. He was honorably discharged from D Troop 1st squadron 9th Cavalry division as a Cavalry scout in Fort Hood, TX in 1979. He held many different jobs including a commercial truck driver across the US, across the world as a driller and supervisor for Parker Drilling, locally as a driller and tool pusher for Four Corners Drilling and Bearcat Drilling, a company man for Burlington and finally a proud business owner and mechanic of Danny’s Tire and Auto for 26 years. He had many hobbies and was bigger than life. 

Danny is preceded in death by his Father Erwin Ernest Shipley II, Mother Joyce Donna Betters Lemieux, Sister Jacqueline Hanahran, brothers Ricky Shipley, Thomas “Tommy” Shipley, James William “Jimmy” Shipley and grandson Ezra Villanueva. He leaves behind his wife, Emma Root Shipley daughters Erieka Villanueva of Abilene, Tx, Alysha and Riccie Shipley of Eugene, OR, Jessica Shipley of Farmington, NM, Jailean Shipley of Midland, TX, Jamie Shipley of Farmington, NM, one son Erwin “Erv” Shipley of Abilene, TX and grandchildren Ivory Rodriguez, Luis Caro-Shipley, Jaiden Estrada, Nixin Barnhart and Ezaiah Villanueva and many friends. We will miss his stories and jokes.

A memorial is planned for October 26 at 11:00 am, Journey Church 1901 E Murray Dr. Farmington, NM. In lieu of flowers in Danny’s name may be made to Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington.
