Frederick Carl Brandenburg 87 of Aztec, NM passed away August 3rd, 2024 in Farmington. He was born on September 18, 1936 in Colorado Springs, CO to Carl and Olive Brandenburg.

Funeral services will be at Bethel Baptist Church in Aztec. A viewing will be held from 9 – 10am, church service 10 – 11am, graveside Military Honors at Aztec Cemetery 11 – 12pm followed by food at the Bethel Baptist Church.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Carl & Olive Brandenburg; Brothers Johnny & Donald; Sisters Louise Clary, Mary Mueller and Carolyn Brandenburg; Wife Georgia Brandenburg; Son Donald Brandenburg; Stepson Brian Ferris; Stepdaughter Toni Hubbard; Grandson Randal Doak. He is survived by his Sons Fred & Kris Brandenburg, Stepson Barry Hubbard; Stepdaughter Becky Hubbard and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fred graduated from Aztec High School in 1954. He worked in the oil field before joining the Army and spending 3 years as a mortar specialist. After the military he worked on the rigs and attended Fort Lewis College in Durango CO. Upon graduating with a degree in Mathematics he went to work for Shell in Farmington. Quickly realizing he was not made for a desk job he went to work for Baker Service Tools in Farmington where he spent more than 15 years running tools in the San Juan Basin. In the late 1960’s while working at Baker Service Tools he purchased Taho Laundry in Aztec which he operated until it closed in the 90’s.
