Guadalupe "Lupe" Baca

Guadalupe “Lupe” Baca passed away on September 4, 2021 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was 92 years of age. She was born on December 11, 1928 in Gallup, New Mexico.

She worked at First State Bank and retired after 27 years of service. She was a devoted member of the Praise and Worship prayer group. She enjoyed watching football especially the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and socializing. She was loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her sons; Michael & Debbie Baca of Tonapah, Nevada, Randy and Tammy Baca of Little River, Texas. Daughters; Veronica and Tom Tafoya of Gallup, Susan Chavez of Phoenix Arizona. Brother; Louis Garibay of Gallup. One sister; Isabel Gutierrez of Huntington Beach, California. 12 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 11 Great-great grandchildren also survive her.

She was preceded in death by husband Ben R. Baca. Her parents; Eusebio Garibay and Librada Estrada.  Brothers; Robert Garibay. and Ralph Garibay. Sisters; Theresa Perez. And a grandson; Daniel Tafoya.

On Saturday September 11, 2021 at Sacred Heart Cathedral a viewing will begin at 10:30 AM. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM. Then a Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM by Father Mitchell Brown. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Pallbearers include; Michael Chavez, Thomas Tafoya Jr., Larry Chavez, Patrick Tafoya, Michelle Gutierrez, Randy Baca Jr., Nathaniel Baca, Paul Chavez, Richard Baca, Sarah Baca and Christopher Baca.

Cope Memorial Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
