James & Kathy Saucedo

Kathy Baca Saucedo was born on May 8, 1956, in Clovis, New Mexico to Nick and Mela Baca. She passed away on Sunday July 7, 2024, in Gallup, New Mexico. She was 68 years of age. 

James Robert Saucedo was born on December 19, 1955, in Gallup, New Mexico to Gabriel Saucedo Jr. and Eileen McCune-Saucedo and was raised by Gabriel Sr. and Clara Saucedo. He passed away on Monday July 8, 2024, also in Gallup, New Mexico on their 46th wedding anniversary. He was 68 years of age. 

James and Kathy were married on July 8, 1978, in Gallup, New Mexico where they raised their family. They co owned: Saucedo’s One Hour Photo and Sado’s Construction. James was previously employed by Rico Motor Company as an ASE certified Master Technician, and retired from the City of Gallup, as fleet services manager. He was also a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Kathy was a longtime parish secretary for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mother’s. Both were active with St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. 

They are survived by their children; Ernest E. Martinez, Gloria Minter, and Rosie Saucedo (Troy). 8 grandchildren; Dj Martinez, Nicole Kugler (Brad), James Suazo (Jade), Eileen Kugler, Manuel Minter, Sammy Ramirez (Savannah), Frankie Ramirez (Helen), and Destiny Diaz. 10 Great-grandchildren; Kayden, Daxton, Ernesto, James Jr., Andrez, Yesenia, Georgie, Coen, Ryleigh, and Nova. His Mother; Cindy Saucedo, His Siblings; Jimmy Saucedo, Johnny Saucedo (Barbara), Robert Saucedo, Lynnette Sheridan (Vince) and Claudette Saucedo. Her siblings; Nick Baca Jr. (Lori), Ralph Baca (Estella), Margie Gabaldon, Paul Baca (Karen), Maria Martinez (Louie), Wilford Baca (Carol), Dorothy Heckler (David), Tessie Radcliffe (Ron), Tina Ford (Steve), Alfred Baca, Robert Baca, Ricky Baca, and Rudy Baca (Mae). Along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives. 

They were preceded in death by their granddaughter Memory Ramirez and their Grandson Anthony Saucedo. Their great-grandchildren; Ella Grace, Camden, and Koah. Their parents; Gabriel Saucedo Jr., and Eileen McCune Saucedo and Nick and Mela Baca. Her siblings; Vincent Baca, Joe Baca, Max Baca, and Patsy Martinez. His siblings; JoAnn Saucedo, Phillip Saucedo, Charlie Saucedo, Janet Marzilli, and Lorraine Saucedo. And a Godson; Dale Parish. 

On Thursday July 18, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Gallup, New Mexico at 10 AM a Rosary will be recited by Mother Magda Garcia. (if you have a “Kathy” made Rosary, please bring) An 11 AM Mass will be co-celebrated by Father Josh Mayer and Father Patrick Schaffer OFM. A reception will follow next door at the St. Francis Parish Hall. On Friday July 19, 2024, A burial will take place at Grants Memorial Park, Grants, New Mexico at 11 AM. A reception will follow at the Grants Knights of Columbus Hall. 

Pallbearers include their grandchildren; Dj Martinez, Nicole Kugler, James Suazo, Eileen Kugler, Manuel Minter, Sammy Ramirez, Frankie Ramirez, and Destiny Diaz. 

Honorary Pallbearers include their Godchildren; Tina Ford, Edward Zamora, Dorothy Marquez, Gabriella Rodriguez, Mark Mares, Eli Pena, Robert and Stephanie Hamblen, Cheyenna Hamblen, Trivet Hamblen, Stephanie Martin, and Angel Mora. 

Memorial Contributions to the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Building Fund, 411 N. 2nd St. Gallup, New Mexico.
