Jose A. Vigil (Joe), 83, of Bloomfield, NM entered into eternal life December 14, 2021, surrounded by his family in Farmington, NM. He was born January 12, 1938 in Velarde, NM to Jose Elfido Vigil and Alicia Herrera.
Joe resided in Bloomfield, NM where he owned and operated the J Bar J Meat Shop. Butchering was his talent. A talent that he was able to pass on to a few sons and grandchildren. He believed everyone should work and if you were caught around the meat shop during hunting season or green chili growing season, he made sure you were working. He loved to hunt and fish with his children and grandchildren. You never caught him without a cold Coors Original. Joe was a jack of all trades, he could fix and do just about anything. Always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Joe had an open welcoming heart to everyone.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Raymond, Ross, and George Vigil, sisters Lila, Lydia, and Carmen Vigil.
He is survived by his four brothers Pete, Sam, Danny, and Leo Vigil. Joe is also survived by numerous loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services for Joe will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at St. Rose Church in Blanco, NM
Viewing 10:30 a.m., Rosary 11:15 a.m., Funeral Mass 12:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at Blanco cemetery immediately following service. A reception will take place at the St. Rose Parish Hall following interment.
