Josephine V. Graves

Josephine V. Graves passed away at Cibola General Hospital in Grants on Friday October 28, 2022, she was 89. Graves was born in Grants, New Mexico to Jose and Elvira Sanchez on May 27, 1933.

Born in Grants she eventually moved to Springer, New Mexico then Raton. Ms. Graves moved back to Grants in 1986 where she worked as a Pharmacy Technician for Parkers Pharmacy till her retirement. Josephine loved cooking for everyone she knew. She would often cook meals for family, friends, even for people who were sick in the church. She also loved baking. She would always be the one making the Birthday cake for parties in the family. She loved receiving flowers no matter the color or type of flower. She always appreciated the thought. She was loved and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her Daughter; Donna Graves of Grants, New Mexico. Nephew; Joey Sanchez. Nieces; Kathy Garcia, Emily Porter, Gloria Weddle and June Blea.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert Graves. Her parents; Jose and Elvira Sanchez. Brothers; Popo Sanchez, Lupe Sanchez. Sisters; Ida Garcia, Cuca Sais and Perfy McBride. Nephews; Walter McBride, Pat Sanchez and Jackie Sanchez. Nieces; Nita Garcia and Rosemarie Chavez.

On Friday November 4, 2022 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, a Rosary will be Recited from 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm by Deacon Timo Lujan, then at 12:30 pm a Mass will be Celebrated by Father Matthew Keller. Interment will follow at Grants Memorial Park in Grants, New Mexico.
Pallbearers include; Rhonda McDougle, Renee Baker and Sister Pam Hinkle.
