Josiah Landon Yazzie

Josiah Landon Yazzie, 25 years old of Rio Rancho NM went home to his heavenly father on December 11, 2024. He was born on March 3, 1999 in Shiprock, NM. He is survived my his parents, Dorita and Keith Martin, brother Noah Martin, sister Anaya Martin and dog “Chewy” from Rio Rancho NM. Maternal grandparents, Joe Jimmie and Gina Yazzie of Little Water, NM. Paternal grandparents, Thomas and Naomi Martin of Crownpoint, NM. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Sarah W. Taylor, grandmother Dorothy Yazzie from Otis community, NM, and aunt, Dorlinda Potteiger, from Ephrata PA.

He attended elementary and middle school in Rio Rancho, then graduated from V. Sue Cleveland High School in May, 2017. He then chose to make an honorable decision to enlist in the Military and join the Army in 2018. At this time he became a Specialist-E4, he served 4 honorable years as an unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operator. He was also part of the 017 Air Calvary Brigade, 82 Combat Aviation Brigade, Fort Bragg, NC. He was the recipient of 1 Army Achievement Medal, 1 Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Basic Aviation Badge.

After his Military service, he was employed at Intel Co. as a Dry Etch Manufacturing Technician. He enjoyed his job and made friends. Josiah was a caring, humble and private person who always made sure everyone was okay. He was always thinking of things and he had so many ambitions. His passion was music, making and mixing music. He was a fan of Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Albert Einstein. He enjoyed writing his thoughts down on paper and making his own beats. He had one day aspired to start his own record label company.

Josiah will be missed dearly and we will forever hold him close in our hearts and our thoughts. Rest in Peace our sweet son, until me meet again. Love you to the moon and back.
