Larry Alan Willinger – October 31, 1936 - December 31, 2024

Larry Willinger left his earthly life of 88 years December 31st, 2024, at San Juan Regional Medical Center and entered the gates of heaven, to begin his eternal life, with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Larry was born on October 31st, 1936, to Charles and Gertrude (Schade) Willinger on the farm in Hudson, Kansas. He was the third of four children. He was a graduate of Hudson High School. Larry was also a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, United States Army.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Darwin Willinger, sister Phyllis Gill, an infant sister, Shelia, grand-daughter Brandy Stevens, great-grandson Armando Aragon and Stepson Robert English.

Larry was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and sports. He attended every baseball and football game he could that his kids and grandkids were involved in. During football season you could find him in front of the tv watching the game, especially if the Kansas City Chiefs were playing. In his younger days he also enjoyed going out dancing.

Larry worked for Halliburton for 35 years. He began his career with Halliburton as a truck driver and retired in 1991 as an area superintendent. After retirement he spent his days taking care of his home and helping family, neighbors and friends with anything they needed help with.

Larry is survived by his wife Maxine (English) Willinger, sister Shirley Fischer, St. John, KS., son Randy (Laura) Willinger, Tucson, AZ., daughters Kathy (Dwayne) Clark, Tammy (Dan) Jefferson and Julie Scheideman, Marion, KS., and stepdaughter Nanette (Steve) Rahm, Midland, TX. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Larry also held a special spot in his heart for their dog Bella. She will surely miss the undivided attention he paid to her.

He will be forever missed by all.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Willinger, Ethan Willinger, Thomas Haws, Austin Haws, Kenny Rahm, Evan Rahm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Timberline Church, 311 Ruins Road, Aztec, NM 87410 on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, at 1:00 pm with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E Main St., Farmington, NM 87402. A reception will take place at the VFW Post 614, 201 S Park Ave., Aztec, NM.
