Lawrence Larry Lavar Long, 86, went on his final adventure to be with the Lord that he loved so much on Thursday December 6, in Aztec New Mexico.
Larry was a decorated Korean War veteran recipient of the Bronze Star. On one of his deployments home he married the love of his life Lois Paxton. After serving in the military Larry and Lois moved to Marvel Colorado where they farmed and started their family. Larry was very adventurous his hobbies included spending time with his beautiful wife, star gazing, gardening and spending time with family and grandkids. Larry was a member of the Soil Conservation, VFW and DAV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Matilda Long, siblings, son Lloyd Lavar Long, daughter Sherrie Willeford and daughter Cindi Hardman. Larry is survived by Lois, his wife of 66 years, son Bob Long and wife Sharon, son Ron Long and wife Rebecca. He is also survived by his grandchildren Charlie and Marie Clark, Doneva and Brian Littlefield, Delinda and Marshall Johnson, Amanda and Rory Teller, Caleb Hardman, Samantha Horn, Heather and Daeton Shafer, Weston Long and Leigha and Aaron Leininger, and 15 great grandkids.
Memorial Services will be at 2:00 Thursday December 13, 2018 at The Church of Christ on Ruins Road. Service will be officiated by Johnathon Dobbs. Reception (potluck) will follow immediately after the service in the fellowship hall.
