Maggie Brown Ford, 85, of Upper Fruitland passed away on April 14, 2018. Maggie was born on Sept. 5, 1932 in Smith Lake, N.M. to Frank and Mary Brown.
Maggie was honored to have walked the "Walk for the Women" from Farmington N.M. to Washington, D.C. in 1993. When being employed during her life, she spent it mostly in Idaho. Her hobbies included sewing, making blankets, making bread, Navajo weaving, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was traditional and maintaining the Navajo Language which was important to her.
Maggie is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Ford, sons, Larry L. Ford, Henry L. Ford, parents, Frank Brown, Mary Brown, brothers, Sam Brown, Albert Brown, Anderson Brown, and sister, Jessie Brown.
Maggie is survived by her sons, Kenneth L. Ford, Alvin Ford of Upper Fruitland, N.M., daughters, Betty Ford of Upper Fruitland, N.M., Evelyn Slim of Smith Lake, N.M., Juanita Sheak of Farmington, N.M., Katherine Enditto of Thoreau, N.M., Jennie Ford of Lapwai, Idaho, Enita Rocha of Boise, Idaho, daughter-in-laws, Dorothy Ford of Upper Fruitland, N.M., Grace Ford of Rupert, Idaho, sister, JoAnn Halona of Smith Lake, N.M. and 30 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren.
A public viewing will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at Cope Memorial Chapel of Kirtland, 458 CR 6100, Kirtland, N.M. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 473 Co. RD 6100, Kirtland, N.M., and Officiated by Bishop Larry Hathaway. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Farmington, Reception to follow immediately after burial at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 473 Co. RD 6100, Kirtland, N.M.
