Mary Salazar

Mary L. Salazar “Nena” was born December 27,1942 in Grants, New Mexico to Jose Inez Lucero and Natividad Garcia-Lucero. She passed away June 06, 2023, at her residence in Grants, New Mexico. She was 80 years old.

Mary worked for Pizza hut for 10 years, CCA for 10 years, Federal prison for 4 years, and was a custodian at the Los Alamitos Middle School.

She is survived by her children; Debbie Salazar of Virginia Beach, VA; Deirdra Rivera (William) of Grants, NM; Darren Salazar of Albuquerque, NM; Derek Salazar (Candy) of Grants, NM; Dennis Salazar (Sheila) of Albuquerque, NM; Darlene Roybal (Daniel) of Rio Rancho, NM; Brother, Juan Antonio Lucero of Henderson, NV; 15 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; Numerous Nieces and Nephews and beloved friends Rosalie Wickman, Corrine Padilla, Gloria Baca, and Jamie Holton.

She was preceded in death by son Daniel T. Salazar; Parents Jose Inez and Natividad Lucero; Ex Husband Willie Salazar; Sisters Clorinda Gutierrez, Thomasita Lucero, Ursula Santillanez, Georgetta Trujillo, Martha Gonzales, and Viola Lucero; and brother Willie Lucero.

On Friday June 16, 2023 a Rosary will be recited at St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church at 9:30AM with a Mass to follow at 10:00AM.

Interment to follow at Grants Memorial Park at 2:00PM
