It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Dunn, who left us peacefully on March 1, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on December 29, 1932, in Pueblo Colorado, she was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend.
Nancy was known for her steadfastness, kindness, sense of humor, and her stories. She dedicated her life to her family and friends, always putting those she loved above all else. She was always there to help with sound, practical advice to any family member in need.
A graduate of Adam State University, she was a master teacher and educator of first grade and kindergarten students in Farmington at Animas and McKinley Elementary Schools. Her passion for teaching and travel brought joy and inspiration to those around her.
She is survived by her children Phillip Dunn (Jean), Steven Dunn (Lindy), Paula Johansen (Richard), George Dunn (Susie), grandchildren Christine Hightower (Ryan), Jeff Dunn (Erica), Kim Donald (Glen), Tracey Moskul (Steven), Rachel Banash (Grant), Amber Rhoton (Chad), Michelle Johansen-Kelly (Stewart), David Johansen (Kim), Eric Johansen (Tana), Jennifer Zickerman (Mike), Jake Hollier (Cris), Timi Anthony (Adam), who will cherish her memory and continue her legacy of caring and love. She was predeceased by her husband, Rex Dunn after 66 years together.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held next summer. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the San Juan College Foundation in her name.
Nancy will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
