Ophelia Diaz

Ophelia Diaz passed away on December 15, 2018 in Gallup, New Mexico, she was 89. Ms. Diaz was born on September 10, 1929 in Sugar City, Colorado.
Ms. Diaz was a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church. Her hobbies included crocheting and cooking. Her favorite times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her children; Michael Diaz and his wife Christine, Lenore Chavez and her husband Robert, Manuel Diaz, and Lorraine Trujillo and her husband Larry. Six grandchildren; Markos Chavez, Taña Chavez, Joshua Diaz, Chelsea Diaz, Gabriel Trujillo, and Ashley Trujillo. Four great-grandchildren; Khole Diaz, Aliyah Chavez, Aysha Chavez, and Elijah Trujillo. Her siblings; Gene Diaz, Jesus Chewy Hijar, Mark Diaz, Louie Diaz, John Diaz, Paul Diaz, Gilbert Diaz, John Montoya, Elisa Sandoval, Enis Morales, Carmen Benavides, Lucy Alvarez, Veronica Fain, and Marcella Diaz.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francisco Diaz on February 4, 2012. Her parents; Eugenio and Lenore Diaz. Her siblings; Joe Diaz, Bobby Diaz, Lola Diaz, Cruz Diaz, and Cora Martinez.
On Wednesday December 16, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm a Visitation will be held at Cope Memorial Chapel. On Thursday December 20, 2018, 11:00 am a funeral service will be held at the First Assembly of God church with Pastor David Toppen officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers include; Markos Chavez, Taña Chavez, Joshua Diaz, Chelsea Diaz, Gabriel Trujillo, Ashley Trujillo, Joe Vargas and John Sedillo.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
