Paul David Marez was born October 1, 1967 in Grants, New Mexico and entered eternal rest on November 21, 2022 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, New Mexico. He was 55 years of age.
Mr. Marez was born and raised in Grants, New Mexico and lived there all his life. He loved baseball, softball, playing golf and listening to all types of music. His favorite baseball team was the Boston Redsox. Paul enjoyed his job as a heavy equipment operator while working for the City of Grants Water Department but was a jack of all trades working for Superior Service Pluming, CCA Women's Prison, Days Inn and Holiday Inn as well as doing anything for his loved ones and his friends. He especially loved his kids and grandchild very much. He even went as far as getting his license to drive the school bus just so he could be the one taking them on school trips. He fit in with every group and could easily befriend anyone. Paul was deeply loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his Wife of 35 years; Margie Marez. Daughter; Samantha Eylicio (Estevan). Sons; Robert Marez and Ethan Tafoya. One Grandson; Nicholas Eylicio. God Children; Jacqueline Tafoya, Ryan Marez, Paul Leroy Martinez and Bella Tafoya. Mother; Ruth Marez. Siblings; Eddie Marez and Theresa Candelaria (Carlos).
Paul was preceded in death by his Father; Joe Marez Jr. Paternal Grandparents; Jose & Gabriella Marez. Maternal Grandparents; Nazario & Angela Lopez.
On Wednesday November 30, 2022 a rosary will be recited at St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 1, 2022 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic
Church. Interment will follow at Grants Memorial Park followed by a Reception.
Pallbearers include; Eddie Marez, Estevan Eylicio, Diondre Tafoya, Ethan Tafoya, Rennie Tafoya, Jason Torrez, OJ Tomlinson, and Frankie Martinez
Honorary Pallbearers include; Nicholas Eylicio, Carlos Candelaria, Paul Leroy Martinez, Ryan Marez.
Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
