Prescilla (Valdez) Romero

Perscilla Romero passed away on Friday November 9, 2018 in Gallup, New Mexico, she was 84 years of age. She was born on June 28, 1934 in La Jara, New Mexico.

Perscilla was formerly employed with the St. Francis School and Gallup McKinley County School cafeterias, Ramada Inn, Pizza Hut, and One of a Kind Pizza. She was a devoted member of the St. Francis Catholic Parish, Christian Mothers, Cursillo, and a Guadalupana. She enjoyed staying active, by gardening, word searches, and visiting the casino. She was a mother to all, she was loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her sons; Mark Romero (Mary Cullen) and Alfred Romero. Eight grandchildren; Jeffery Hatch, Cindy Romero, Trinidad Romero, Alfred Romero Jr., William Romero, Antonio Romero, Gino Romero, and Nevaeh Tariengino Romero. Five Great-Grandchildren; Isabelle, Zavier, Angel, Vivian and Atreyeo. Six siblings; Isidor Valdez, Nestorita Montoya, Rose Armenta (Rufino), Freddy Valdez (Nancy), Liva Archuleta (Dickie), and Herman Valdez.

She was preceded in death by her Husband: Trinidad L. Romero on August 24, 1994 and her parents Patrocinio and Silvianita Valdez.

On Friday November 16, 2018 at Cope Memorial Chapel a visitation will be held from 5:00 -  7:00 PM. On Saturday November 17, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, a Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM led by Geraldine Montoya. Then at 10:30 a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Abel Olivas, OFM. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A reception will then receive family and friends at St. Francis School Cafeteria.

Pallbearers include: Ramona Lyon, Cecilia Bencomo, Norma Valdez, Irene Valdez, Jose Montoya, Joseph Armenta, Mike Romero, and Michael Romero.

Honorary Pallbearers include: All her nieces and nephews.

Cope Memorial Chapel of Gallup is entrusted with arrangements.
