Rinelda (Strang) Hunt

Rinelda (Randy) Marie Hunt, Age 85, resident of Flora Vista, New Mexico

Date of Birth:  3/21/1935 in Nassau, Minnesota

Randy is survived by sons, Steven Hunt and wife Janet, of Longview, Texas, Doug Hunt and wife Teresa, of Farmington; daughter, Patsy Langlitz and husband Leonard of Albuquerque; and five grandchildren, Brian Hunt, Kyle Hunt, Curtis Hunt, Christopher Langlitz and Shayna Langlitz. She was preceded in death her husband Dale; her parents, Andrew and Margaret Strang; sisters Alice Kern and Dorothy Beyer, and brothers Melvin Strang, Lawrence Strang, George Strang, and Sylvester Strang.   One of 10 children, Randy grew up in Madison, South Dakota, married Dale on Feb. 16, 1956, and moved to New Mexico in 1958.  She worked for a time at the Green Stamps Store, but was mostly a homemaker taking care of her children and her home.   Randy was a devoted fan of both her children's and grandchildren's sports activities, traveling across the Southwest with Dale to watch them play.  During their younger years, Randy and Dale would spend nights playing pinochle with their dear friends, Pat and Sally Murphy, and would always bring home one or two extra kids to spend the night.  Randy and Dale also helped raise their nephew Craig Strang when he was young.  At the Hunt’s home, Christmas season started on Thanksgiving weekend with trips to the local craft fairs in search of decorations and gifts for the family.  Christmas ended with midnight mass, Santa gifts that had been hidden for weeks (although the kids actually found most of them), and a big turkey dinner.  Randy loved to work outside in her yard and her garden.  Randy was fun to be around as she was an avid bowler, loved to play cards and games with her family, take long drives in the car and eat out.  The family would like to thank Sadie Bigboy for being such a loving caregiver to Randy over the last year and a half.  A Rosary will be said at 10:30 AM Saturday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Flora Vista, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM.   Interment to follow in Memory Gardens as she is laid to rest with Dale.  Pallbearers will be her four grandsons, Brian Hunt, Kyle Hunt, Curtis Hunt and Christopher Langlitz.
