Biography:

Sammy Willard Ward was born and grew up in Chama, New Mexico got married at an early age had 4 children all boys, in 1966 Dad moved his family to Farmington, NM looking for better opportunities following the oil and gas industry. Dad was known in the community from his Polar Bear Express shaved ice truck, at the ball fields, Wal-Mart & Sam’s Club Dad was an integral part of the Farmington Boys Club in the early 70’s mentoring several young men being that positive influence to the kids who didn’t have a male role model at home. Dad loved sports especially his family from his boys to his grandkids and great grandkids who were involved in Football, Basketball, Baseball, Boxing, Wrestling, Karate, and Soccer even at Connie Mack he had his special seat that he had ever since you had to purchase the seat prior to the games, getting up at 4:00 am to be at the Rec. Center by 5:00 am only to wait until 8:00 am when they opened the doors to be one of the first in line to get his special seat.

Dad was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather to his wife, four kids, twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Dad truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends when they would come over to visit Dad and Mom would always offer coffee and food to eat and drink. Dad will be missed by all.
