Valdemar Val Alexander Rodriguez Born January 12, 1974 in Santa Cruz California passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, December 15, 2018.
Val was raised in Del Rio, Texas and moved to Kirtland, NM in 1995. Val is preceded in death by his grandparents Asuncion and Micaela Rodriguez and his brother Joseph A. Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife Theresa, son Val, Jr., Daughter Serena, Son Jacob and his youngest son Joseph, Parents Valdemar and Cindy Rodriguez, bothers Johnny (Lily), Stephen ( Alejandra) Rodriguez, sister Maria (Juan) Martinez, grandparents Richard and Pilar Gil. Shortly after arriving to Kirtland, Val got a job at San Juan Regional Medical Center and was employed there for almost 22 years. During this time he made a lot of great friends. Those who knew Val knew his life revolved around his children. He loved watching them play their favorite sports and you could always find him in the stands cheering them on. Second to watching his children play sports was the NFL. He was a Die-Hard Cowboys fan; He would watch them religiously with his father- in- law Arsenio. King of Country Music! George Straight was his ALL time favorite. Every year Val would take his family to Las Vegas and attend his concerts. Val loved the outdoors. His pastime consisted of snowmobiling, fishing ,riding horses with his dad and brothers, playing catch with his sons, shooting baskets, casino trips with his father-in-law, taking his dog Rango out in the hills and traveling with family to different destinations. Val looked forward to every year when he would load up his family and head down to his parents Ranch in Del Rio, TX, where he loved to BBQ and go swimming at Lake Amistad. Val we love you and you will be missed! A memorial service will be held on Thursday December 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield 200 W. Sycamore Ave. Pastor Cody Stovall officiating. Cremation has taken place. Honorary pallbearers will be: Valdemar E. Rodriguez, Valdemar Rodriguez Jr., Jacob Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Serena Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez, Stephen Rodriguez, Arsenio Martinez, and James Gurule.
